New York, NY – GDP INSIDER  – 12/15/2014.

Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB)’s CEO has been noted selling shares in the company in a fashion that has attracted the attention of Wall Street. Philippe Dauman has reportedly sold shares worth about $140 million since just about before the Thanksgiving, according to the New York Post.

The almost rapid stock selling by Dauman has got analysts speculating his future in the company and what such moves could also mean for the future of Viacom. There have been speculations that Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB) was a takeover candidate and that Dauman could also exit his present role.

Although Dauman’s actions have mostly raised speculations, massive insider selling can sometimes signal a challenge down the road. Nonetheless, Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB) was quick to point out that stock selling by Dauman were only for financial planning reasons. That means should mean that there is nothing more than meets the eye in the sales.
