Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) announced to recapture the market share by introducing their innovative products that addresses key technologies which are made to meet the requirements of the fast growing data centre and cloud computing workloads. The company designs semiconductors and is leads the market with its innovative vivid digital experience with its wide range of computing devices.  AMD’s server computing products focuses on cloud computing and virtualization environments which will help them lead the industry.

The company also announced the products which they are expecting to launch in the year 2014. The 2014 server portfolio products includes the best Accelerated Processing Units (APU), two and four socket CPU’s and the AMD Opteron Series server processor, code named “KYOTO”, which dominates the small core server market.  The company promoted its product by saying that these processors are important innovations to the rapidly changing compute market. These servers will serve high density compute in data centre and are cost effective.

Andrew Feldman the General Manager of the Server Business Unit of AMD said that the company’s strategies is to gain a significant recognition by using their unique IP to build server processors which are particularly coded to meet the requirements of the targeted workload and thereby lowering the total cost of owning servers. He said that AMD had led the world in the transition to multi-core processors and 64 bit computing and they wish to repeat the same with their next generation AMD Opteron series.

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is primarily engaged in developing and commercializing Graphic chips which are used in Personal Computers (PCs). The Company has its operations running through three segments namely Graphics Processing Unit Business, Consumer Products Business and Professional Solutions Business. Nvidia’s new product Nvidia Shield has failed to launch its product due to certain mechanical issues. It is a product which will attract customers with its innovative features which will bring a new experience of gaming.
