Alexco Resource Corp (NYSEMKT:AXU) receives water use license at Yukon, EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP)

Alexco Resource Corp (NYSEMKT:AXU): In Wednesday’s trading session, Alexco Resource Corp (NYSEMKT:AXU) dipped 2.55% and closed at $1.53. It opened at $1.59 per share, touched an intraday high of $1.63, before dropping down to close at $1.47 per share. More than 0.598 million shares were traded in Wednesday’s trading session. This number stood above the average volume of 0.445 million that was measured over a 30-day period.

AXU reported that the water authority, Yukon Water Board had given it a Water Use License amendment for the Lucky Queen and Onek mines located in Yukon’s Keno Hill Silver District. The very recent and decreasing silver prices have given the company reason to evaluate all its operating plans very closely. The CEO said that Alexco Resource Corp (NYSEMKT:AXU)’s decision about when to start production at Onek will be dependent on the ongoing analysis. He said that since the metal market environment is a very unstable one, it makes sense to defer the Onek production till there is an improvement and stabilization in market condition. He added that he expects the company’s analysis and interim plans to reach completion over the next couple of weeks.

EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP): In Wednesday’s trading session, EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP) dipped 3.94% and closed at $3.90. It opened at $4.09 per share, which was also the intraday high, before dropping down to close at $3.86 per share. More than 0.248 million shares were traded in Wednesday’s trading session. This number stood above the average volume of 0.094 million that was measured over a 30-day period.

EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP) is engaged in exploring and mining of potash in eastern Arizona in the Holbrook Basin. It primary business is conducted via the investment that it has in American West Potash LLC. This is pursuant to the operating agreement that it has with The Karlsson Group, Inc. On 11 February 2011, EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP) completed the acquisition of Prospect Global Resources Inc. This subsidiary is wholly owned by EDAP TMS S.A (NASDAQ:EDAP).
