APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics are two of the world’s foremost technology companies, and are major rivals in the world of Smartphone devices. The two tech firms have fought major battles when it comes to producing some of the finest items the world has ever seen. In the same manner, APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung have been embroiled in a battle about infringement, which has gone on for such a long time. APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) had accused Samsung of flouting a few rules, and infringing on its privacy as well as rights as a global tech firm.

Initially, when the war between the two companies started, APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) reportedly demanded for billions in compensation from Samsung. Elsewhere, it was reported that APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) wanted not less than $380 million from Samsung for this infringement issue. However, Samsung apparently knew the mistake it had made, and was only prepared to pay not more than $52 million. It seems that Samsung appreciated the gravity of this situation, but was unwilling to accept full liability to the extent that APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) demanded or was asking the courts to award.

Rarely, in the tech world do two global brands in the form of APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung get embroiled in such cases. The figure of $380 million that APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) mentioned was to be additional to the $600 million it requested the courts to compel Samsung to pay to its accounts for the issues regarding infringement that it raised. APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s grouse with Samsung stems from the fact that it believes the latter violated close to five of its patents when coming up with 13 Samsung devices. APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) believes that certain features on Samsung devices, such as pinch and zoom screen, fall in this category.

APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) believes that it lost a lot of revenue as a result of this level of infringement as carried out by Samsung. This US Company also believes that Samsung obtained a lot of revenue by making use of the patents it never owned, money that should rightly have been APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s to earn. If APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) is to be awarded everything it wants, it will earn slightly less than $1 billion as compensation from Samsung. APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) says that the $3.5 billion Samsung raised as revenue would not have been possible without the five patents it infringed that belonged to eth American tech giant.

APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) has pointed out 10.7 million devices that Samsung sold during the period when it is said to have infringed on the former’s patents. The US courts are still deliberating how much APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) should be given, from what Samsung collected in revenue. The case has been in courts for long now, but may continue until the two tech giants reach an amicable solution and agree out of court. That in itself is not bad since it will not be the first time two U.S corporations reach such an agreement, to stop any bad blood from developing and affecting their transactions.

It seems like there is a new development with each passing day regarding the case that APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL) filed for U.S courts to compel Samsung to compensate it for using the former’s patents, without notice. Currently, it is harder to estimate when the case will be concluded successfully to the satisfaction of all the concerned parties.
