J C Penney Company Inc(NYSE:JCP) announced on Oct. 13th that it had named Marvin Ellison, who currently serves as the executive vice president of stores at Home Depot, as the new President and CEO-Designee. The appointment will become effective on Nov. 1st, 2014. J C Penney Company, a department store company that currently has a market capitalization of over $2 billion, sells family apparel, footwear, accessories, jewelry, beauty products, and home furnishings.
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.(NYSE:WMT) announced on Oct. 15th that it currently plans to accelerate its e-commerce and digital initiatives expansion, dedicating between $1.2 to $1.6 billion during fiscal year 2016. This mark represents a $0.2 to $0.6 billion increase from its previous estimate of $1.0 billion. In order to finance its e-commerce expansion, the company will decrease its net retail square feet expansion from 32 to 34 million net square feet to 26 to 30 million net square feet.
Dean Foods Co(NYSE:DF) is a Texas-based food and beverage company that processes and distributes milk and other fluid dairy products in the United States, including fluid milk, ice cream, creamers, and ice cream mix. On Oct. 17th, the company announced that it would be hosting a live webcast to discuss its third quarter 2014 earnings on Nov. 10th, 2014. Additionally, Dean Foods also recently added Ralph Scozzafaza as the company’s new Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
