Are These Stocks Potential Goldmines? Planet Payment Inc (NASDAQ:PLPM) and Willbros Group Inc (NYSE:WG)
New York, NY – GDP INSIDER – 04/16/2014.
This article discusses two companies: Planet Payment Inc (NASDAQ:PLPM) and Willbros Group Inc (NYSE:WG)
Planet Payment Inc (NASDAQ:PLPM) reversed its recent downward trend yesterday with the stock gaining 11.76% or $0.20 to close at $1.90 on very active trading of 1.078 million shares, when compared to its three month average trading volume of 0.228 million. The international payment, transaction and multi-currency processing service provider has been fluctuating between $1.48 and $2.08 for the last three months, without showing much sign of pushing through its resistance level of $2.10. So far this year Planet Payment Inc has been losing value, with the stock down 8.65%, but its recent gains have pulled it back from its 52 week low $1.33 in the middle of February. However, with a converging MACD and RSI of 61.90 the stock does not look like it is going to climb much higher in the near term, without a significant piece of positive news making it a sell, rather than hold at this time.
Willbros Group Inc (NYSE:WG) saw an increase of 4.91% in value as the stock gained thirteen cents to move to a closing price of $2.78 on lower than average trading volume of 0.666, compared to its 30 day average trading volume of 1.37 million. The oil, gas and refinery engineering and construction service provider has been struggling so far this year, dealing with the difficult situation of unstable oil prices and is down 55.66% YTD. The stock had been outperforming the S&P 500 briefly in February but even though the index is struggling with just a small gain of 2.32%, Willbros Group Inc is doing worse. With RSI of 29.70 the stock is becoming undervalued which could make it attractive, but only when the sector as a whole has a period good news. Better to hold for now, or take a risk and invest in it for the long term.
