KCAP Financial Inc (NASDAQ:KCAP) hit a new 52 week low of $5.60 yesterday before recovering, to close down 2.73% or $0.16 to finish the day at a closing price of $5.71 on high trading volume of 0.816 million, compared to its 30 day average trading volume of 0.233 million. The US-based internally managed business development company has been declining for most of the year so far, with the stock down 16.28% year to date, compared to S&P 500 which is up 0.88% over the same period. With RSI of 22.92, KCAP Financial Inc may be undervalued at the moment, but it is a very speculative buy. Better to hold or steer clear.

Vista Gold Corp. (NYSEMKT:VGZ) reversed its recent upward trend with the stock closing down 0.82% or $0.003 to finish the day at a closing price of $0.338 on high trading volume of 0.215 million, compared to its 30 day average trading volume of 0.115 million. The stock, however, gained 5.59% during afterhours trading to move to new figure of $0.410. The $32.26 million market cap company, which fluctuated between $0.38 and $0.40 during the day, is currently holding 17.85% above its $0.33 and 10.25% above its 50 day moving average of $0.35, making it a hold for now.

W&T Offshore, Inc. (NYSE:WTI) continued to climb yesterday with the stock closing up 2.20% after gaining thirteen cents to finish the day at a closing price of $6.03 with 5.05 million shares changing hands compared to its 30 day average trading volume of 2.68 million. The independent oil and natural gas producer is trading well so far this week, with the stock up 20.12% compared to the S&P 500 index which is down 0.03% for the same period. However, W&T Offshore, Inc has been gradually declining in line with the continuing weakness of oil and other energy commodity prices, as many investors move out the sector until the situation improves. With EPS of $-0.15 and 80% decline in quarterly revenue growth (yoy), it is better to sell than hold for now.
