Verizon may be selling some of its wireline assets and Frontier Communications Corp(NASDAQ:FTR) could be a potential candidate to purchase its wireline assets. In 2010, the company bought Verizon’s wireline assets for a total of $8.6 billion. The stock traded within a range of $6.56 to $6.76 after opening the day at $6.61 and closed the day to a new closing price of $6.74, an increase of 3.93% in value. Yesterday, analysts at Bank of America upgraded their stock rating on the shares of Frontier Communications Corp from Neutral to Buy and cut down their price target to $7.50 from $10.

Halcon Resources Corp(NYSE:HK) traded for a new 52 week low of $1.42 before finishing the day at a closing price of $1.52 after a 4.40% loss of $0.07 per share as oil prices dropped more than 5% yesterday after Goldman Sachs cut its 3-month forecasts for Brent from $80 to $42/barrel and $70 to $41/barrel for WTI. On January 12, analysts at Stephens downgraded their rating on the stock from ‘overweight’ rating to ‘equal weight’ rating. The ticker is currently situated 79.73% above its 52-week high of $7.50.
