AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T), Dallas head quartered telecom major has announced yesterday that it will have exclusive carry for the soon to be released offering from AUUS which is being marketed as ASUS PadFone. This digital device has been eagerly awaited upon by the tech designer community and the users alike because it will validate if a hybrid device which sandwiches “a smart phone and a tablet into one” will create a new segment among the U.S consumers. The pricing of this product, specification and sales launch dates are to be provided by the $185 billion market capped firm later.

Fills A Void In The Product Portfolio

Commenting about the new product and its expected impact on the digital devices/smart phone scene in the U.S, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) Senior Vice President for Devices has been quoted as saying, “The PadFone X is first of its kind in the U.S. It combines leading technology, a beautiful design and a remarkably seamless application experience – all on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network. This allows consumers to run their smartphone apps instantly on a vivid 9-inch tablet display. ASUS has been positioning this device as a technology innovation which will allow its users to instantly transform their smart phone into a larger tablet to serve their needs of a computing device and has assured users of delightful and ultimate user experience on both the smart phone and the tablet devices.

Smartphone Rolled Into A Tablet

This new device for which AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) will be the exclusive carrier in U.S consists of a 5 inch wide screen smart phone which can be connected into a 9 inch tablet by docking the two devices together. It will work on the Android KitKat Operating system and has a streamlined design and a futuristic form factor which gives the combined device a sleek look.
