Can These Stocks Pull Up In Time? McDermott International (MDR), Penn Virginia Corporation (PVA) and MannKind Corporation (MNKD)
New York, NY – GDP INSIDER – 05/22/2015.
This article discusses three companies: McDermott International (NYSE:MDR), Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE:PVA) and MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD)
McDermott International (NYSE:MDR) increased by just over 3.24% in Thursday’s trading session to $4.78 from its previous closing price of $4.63. The increase was not based on any news released by the company, but volume did decline to 2.659 million shares on the day. This compares to a daily average volume of 4.97 million shares. The stock is nearing its one year high of $8.43 and trading 127.62% above its one year low of $2.10. With the MFI of 32.09 and RSI of 48.88, we do not see any technical reason the shares should give back yesterday’s gains in trading next week.
Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE:PVA) continue to climb yesterday with the stock closing up 1.75% or $0.09 to finish the day at a closing price of $5.23 on lower than average trading volume of 3.338 million, compared to its three month average trading volume of 4.10 million. The stock started to climb after analysts at Imperial Capital reiterated their ‘outperform’ rating on the shares of independent oil and gas company. The divergence is currently -0.47 which is a level that may be considered oversold. In addition, the RSI and MFI are at towards the bottom end of the normal range and close to levels that would also start to signal a reversal, hold.
MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD) saw a decline of seven cents yesterday with the stock losing 1.49% to close the day at $4.63 with more than 6.649 million shares changing hands, compared to its three month average trading volume of 5.72 million. The shares are down by 6% in the past one month but are up by 28% over the past five days. The RSI was over 60 in the month of May, but has since pulled back to 54. In addition the MFI is at 54.31, and the technical indicators do not lead us to believe the stock will reverse these gains any time soon. We believe the biopharmaceutical company can continue to increase in value over the next few months, hold.
