PACCAR Inc(NASDAQ:PCAR) is a Washington-based heavy-duty trucks company that produces over-the-road and off-highway vehicles for the hauling of freight, petroleum, and other products. The stock currently has a bid price of $56.00 x 200 and an offer price of $65.00 x 100, figures that indicate that the value of PACCAR shares are currently highly liquid. On Oct. 7th, Barclays reiterated its equal weight rating for the company, setting a target price of $66.00.
Oshkosh Corporation(NYSE:OSK) saw its value fall to a new 52 week low of $40.33 during Friday’s trading. On Oct. 10th, the company announced that it would be cutting 250 to 300 hourly and 70 salaried jobs in response to the United States government’s decision to lower defense spending. All of the layoffs will affect the company’s base of operations in Wisconsin. Oshkosh will be announcing its fourth quarter earnings on Oct. 31st, 2014.
Navistar International Corp(NYSE:NAV) is an Illinois-based commercial and military trucks manufacturer. As a result, part of the company’s business could also be affected by the US government’s defense spending decrease. However, the company announced on Sept. 25th that the company’s Chinese joint venture with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd. had begun production of a new facility in Hefei, China. The location will be capable of producing 200,000 Euro IV and Euro V compliant engines on a yearly basis.
