Golden Star Resources Ltd. (USA)(NYSEMKT:GSS) enjoyed a small increase in value during Friday’s trading, gaining one cent to close at $0.55. The 2.02% increase in value moves the Toronto-based gold mining and exploration company closer to its 52 week high of $0.89. On Wednesday, July 30th, the company announced its second quarter financial results. Golden Star Resources reported that its revenues had decreased by $5.4 million and that the amount of gold sold during the second quarter was 4,091 ounces less than the previous quarter.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.(NYSE:AMD) gained six cents to finish Friday’s trading at a closing price of $3.97. The 1.53% increase is welcome news for the company that had fallen from $4.66 on July 16th to $3.73 on July 24th. Nevertheless, the stock’s current value is more than disappointing for the company that once rivaled Intel, closing for as high as $46.13 on May 5th, 2000. Recently, the company  revealed its new A10-7800 Accelerated Processing Unit, which contains AMD Radeon™ R7 Series graphics.

TearLab Corp(NASDAQ:TEAR) rose 1.61% during Friday’s trading, gaining $0.07 to close at $4.43. The stock traded within a range of $4.34 to $4.59 during the day. Despite the small increase in value, the San Diego-based ophthalmic device company remains $9.85 below its 52 week high of $14.28. On July 16th, the company announced it would release its second quarter financial results on August 7th, 2014. In an effort to improve its senior management team, TearLab recently added Manoj Venkiteshwar, appointing him to the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs.
