Empired and Oakton empower Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) with Oracle
The 2 IT service providers, Empired and Oakton will be supplying Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) with a fully-managed Oracle service on the former’s FlexScale Cloud. Empire is based in Western Australia.
It had teamed-up with Oakton and landed a contract worth millions of dollars, with ABX.
Via this 2-year deal, the two companies will supply services to ABX’s core financial-accounting system in the Asia-pacific region. The deal also covers ongoing annual-options. The overall solution will be handled by Oakton. It will directly provide all the application-managed services that are related to Oracle’s ebusiness suite. All the infrastructure will be provided by Empired. The company will also be providing all the cloud-based services such as core server, security accutanegeneric-reviews and capacity management and storage systems.
This includes provisioning for disaster recovery-services that will use the dual-hosting Cymbalta generic facilities that Empired offers. All these facilities will be provided on the Eastern and Western coast of Australia and real-time replication will be available to provide fail-over services. Russell Baskerville, Empired’s managing director said that the contract follows-up on the prudent investment-decision that was taken by the company cymbalta with relpax to develop the cloud computing program called FlexScale.
