On Thursday, Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) named 4 new executive. The company wants to target the key- growth areas and segments in which competitors are eating into their market share. The Amazon veteran, Robbie Schwietzer is now senior vice-president, Operations at the company. He was the vice-president at Amazon Prime.

The Hopscotch founder, Lisa Kennedy is now vice-president and GM of Groupon Reserve. Hopscotch is the Indian daily-deal site and Groupon Reserve is the company’s entertainment and restaurant discount program. Its target market is high-end customers. Initially, this program had been launched in 2011 and was re-vamped in July. The new version now offers customers reservations at a number of popular restaurants at heavy discounts.

The experts

David Kerr will be Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN)’s vice-president and GM of home services. He was previously with Angie’s List as the vice-president and GM. He will now be handling a team that connects with auto and home-related businesses and also develops a variety of local deals for the company. A former Microsoft executive, Hoke Horne will now be vice-president of global-commercial finance. He will head Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN)’s commercial finance-team and also help in heading financial-operations for the company’s global businesses.
