Hologic, Inc (NASDAQ:HOLX): The trading session on Friday saw Hologic, Inc (NASDAQ:HOLX) shares rising by 3.27%. The opening price of $20.60 touched an intraday high of $21.29 per share before setting down to $20.58. The total number of shares floated in Friday’s trading session was around 3.39 million, which stood above the average volume of 2.88 million, measured over a 30-day period.

Hologic develops, manufactures and supplies medical imaging systems, diagnostics products and surgical products that serve women healthcare needs. The Company has operations in four different segments: Diagnostics, GYN Surgical, Breast Health, and Skeletal Health. Hologic, Inc (NASDAQ:HOLX) sells as well as services its products via a direct sales and service forces. It has a network of sales representatives and independent distributors. In March 2013, the company announced that it had completed the sale of its LIFECODES business unit. The unit was sold to Immucor, Inc.

MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM): The trading session on Friday saw MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) shares rising by 3.10%. The opening price of $15.15 touched an intraday high of $15.80 per share before setting down to $15.13. The total number of shares floated in Friday’s trading session was around 21.01 million, which stood above the average volume of 11.77 million, measured over a 30-day period.

Last week the company announced that it has opened an exchange offer of its Senior Notes. Any and all of the company’s $1.0 billion outstanding aggregate principal amount of the 6.750% Senior Notes that are due in 2020 (the “Initial Notes”) will be exchanged for new 6.750% Senior Notes which will also be due 2020 (the “New Notes”). These have been registered under the 1933 Securities Act.

MGM Resorts International is a holding company that operates in the hospitality domain. The company owns and operates casino resorts. All these resorts offer hotel, convention, gaming, entertainment, retail, dining and all other resort-related amenities. The segments that MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) operates in domestic resorts that are wholly-owned by it and the MGM China segment. It owns and operates 15 different resorts spread across the United States. The MGM China operations are made up of the MGM Macau resort and casino.
