Verizon Communications Inc.(NYSE:VZ) announced Oct. 9th that it will be expanding the reach and strength of Industrial Internet services in conjunction with General Electric. The companies intended to combine GE’s software-enabled machines and devices and Verizon’s machine-to-machine connectivity and cloud platforms. Not only did the company make an announcement related to the industrial world, but Verizon also announced that the Sony Xperia Z3v smartphone, with Playstation 4 remote play, would be available on Oct. 23rd.

Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR)(NYSE:ALU) recently divested its Enterprise division to China Huaxin Post & Telecommunication Economy Development Center. Alcatel-Lucent will maintain a minority stake in the holding company and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, which apparently plans to keep that name, will maintain a close working relationship with its former parent company. The France-based company, which provides Internet protocol and cloud networking to service providers and customers, acquired 202 million euro in cash proceeds through the deal.

On Oct. 6th, CenturyLink, Inc.(NYSE:CTL) announced that it had expanded its hosting availability into China to serve multinational corporations that conduct business in the area. The Shagnhai data center now provides hosting, security, cloud, and networking solutions. Additionally, CenturyLink announced that Microsoft Office 363 will now be bundled with the company’s voice and data bundles for new small and midsized business customers. The addition could help to attract companies that are split between what CenturyLink and another company has to offer at a comparable price.
