On 25 September, Glu Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:GLUU) released some of its revenue and user statistics for this new game application that hit the web on 18 September. This launch is aimed at tablet and smartphone users who use the Mac and iOS platforms. According to the data released by the company, in the 1st week of launch, the application recorded over 5M downloads and in one day it recorded more than 18M game-play sessions. Over the last few weeks, “Deer Hunter 14” has also been the No 1 free game app across 78 countries.
The lucky streak
Gamers are definitely thrilled with the “Deer Hunter 14” launch. But the company has also been able to rake in some revenue from this app. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Niccolo de Masi said that this revenue-generation is a result of the company launching a new monetization strategy and the games-as-a-service launch. On 25 September, Glu Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:GLUU) has released the DeerHunter apps that can be used on Android-operated phones. This will boost the revenue intake from the new launch and add to the profitability of the company.

In Wednesday’s trading, Glu Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:GLUU) dropped by 4.14%. The shares opened at a price of $2.92, which was also the intraday high of the day, and dipped to a close of $2.78. Approximately 1.73 million shares were traded on Wednesday while an average volume of 2.17 million shares were traded over a 30 day period.
