JASO announced better-than-expected shipments of solar- cells in its Q1 report. Though many other Chinese companies from the same sector have been under extreme pressure from expansive debt, JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ:JASO) emerged stronger due to its sales to Japan. These helped it top its initial projection for deliveries during the quarter. Despite this, JASO still faces hurdles dealing with weak margins and huge net losses. Hiking volume can only take the company forward to a certain degree and an overall improvement in the pricing conditions in the industry is what is required to bring about a more sustainable change. JASO is involved in the business of designing, development, manufacture and sales of solar module products and solar cells.
