Liquor Industry Companies Prepare for Summer Demand: Marani Brands, Inc. (OTCPINK: MRIB), Castle Brands Inc. (NYSEMKT: ROX), Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE:STZ)
Marani Brands (OTC Pink: MRIB) (PINKSHEETS: MRIB), announced on July 24, 2014 that its CEO CEO Margrit Eyraud has been collecting data from many sources to help with wide scale promotion of its premium vodka spirit called Marani. According to the release, the management team under leadership of the CEO explored several possibilities and ultimately decided to manage the company’s marketing campaign in-house.
MRIB said it was committed to starting its TV commercials and print ads in California before widening out its campaign to other areas across the country. According to the release, the first rollout will include 15, 30 and 60 second spot commercials complemented by print ads. MRIB says it intends to focus on in-store tasting at prime retail sprit locations.
Reflecting the growing demand for spirit and wine sales, Castle Brands Inc. (NYSEMKT: ROX) announced its Q4 and fiscal 2014 results on June 30, 2014. According to the company, net sales increased 16.2% to $48.1 million compared to the $41.4 million recorded in the corresponding year prior.
Castle Brands Inc. (NYSEMKT: ROX) said also that it had managed to reverse the results for its EBITDA over last year when it recorded a loss of $0.7 million. The company said that EBITDA adjusted was positive at and gained to $0.5 million for the fiscal year 2014. There was also positive news for individual liquor sales and Castle Brands confirmed that its Jefferrson’s Borubon whiskey led to a 43.5% increase in Whiskey revenues over 2013 figures.
Other players in the liquor space have been busy establishing soft campaigns and brand building. Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE:STZ) hosted its first ever Employee Match Day. The event took place on July 23, 2014 and included employees from the company spanning four countries. A mix of charitable benefits was doled out by the company’s employees who received financial support from the company. Items included art centers, health care items, food banks and several items relating to environmental issues.
The strong push by companies like Marani Brands, Inc. is happening in large part due to the stronger demand for alcoholic drink in the last few years. Countries like US which hasn’t bee traditionally with strong demand for wine has overtaken such countries as France and the growth trend looks set to continue.
