Mike Krzyzewski Returns To Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI)
Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) recently posted its 3Q13 earnings release with addition of 513,000 net subscribers to its services. The satellite radio services company reported revenue of $961.5 million with 11% growth compared to 3Q12, missing the analysts’ expectations of average revenue of $970.37 million. Moreover net income dipped to $62.89 million during 3Q13 compared to $74.5 million during 3Q12.
Among recent developments, International Launch Services successfully carried the Sirius FM-6 satellite on an ILS Proton on Saturday, October 26. The satellite was designed and built for Sirius XM Radio by Space Systems/Loral, LLC (SSL). On Monday, October 28, SSL announced that Sirius FM-6 satelliteis performing post-launch maneuvers according to plan. This is the third GEO satellite build by SSL for Sirius XM Radio.
Sirius FM-6 is a 20 KW, high power satellite with an X band uplink and S band downlink payload. Its nine meter reflector was built by Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) which will allow broadcast to cars and satellite radios. This satellite will help ensure reliable, continuous delivery of Sirius XM Radio’s data and audio entertainment services to 25.6 million North American subscribers.
Yesterday, Sirius XM Radio announced returns of head coach of the USA Men’s Basketball teams, Mike Krzyzewski for the ninth season of the weekly radio show, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K. The first episode of ninth season will be aired on Thursday, October 31 at 6:00 pm ET on channel 91, SiriusXM College Sports Nation. In this show, Coach K will welcome Rick Pitino as his guest for a discussion on the upcoming college basketball season. Rick is also National Championship winning coach and hisLouisville Cardinals won NCAA title game in April 2013.
The show basically features Coach K discussing wide array of subjects and interviewing variety of special guests including coaches, athletes as well as business leaders.
