New Update Of iOS App For Users Of Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR)

On November 19, 2013 Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR) issued a major update to its official iOS app. The new update will facilitate improved search and discovery features on the app.

The new version of app is compatible with all Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices powered by iOS 6.0 platform or later including iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The new version of app is available for free in the App Store.

The previous update for Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR)’s iOS app was just released last months which featured home timeline previews for Twitter photos and other select content as well as the ability to retweet, favorite or follow someone directly from a tweet in home timeline.

Key Search Features

The new Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR) app update for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iOS platform comes with an interface enhancements that allows users to find exactly what they may be looking for. For instance, if the user is looking for photos, he or she may use the improved photo search filter which would display Tweets with photos in a list or grid layout. Moreover the users can also filter for videos or even can filter to see Tweets only from people they follow.

In the search results page, users can now select between ‘All Tweets’ and ‘Top Tweets’ and can also tap the ‘fine tune’ icon to refine the search. The other options to toggle between are Tweets from ‘Everywhere’ or ‘Near you’ and ‘All people’ or ‘People you follow’. Moreover the latest app also allows the users to choose to show ‘Everything’, ‘People’, ‘News’, ‘Photos’ or ‘Video.’

The Trending Timeline

This latest update of Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR)’s iOS app also features a new trending timeline that can be found in the Discover section. The trending timeline highlights the trends about nearby events and TV shows as well as trends along the associated tweets.
