Northern, WI 05/27/2013 (GDPInsider) – Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ:PLUG) started trading today 0.29, 0.01 up on its previous close of 0.28 and quickly began its upward trend for the day. The stock is presently up 19.57% on trading volume of 8.867 million – 220.57% above average volume of 2.766 million. The stock has a range of 0.2817 and 0.3488 and is trading 74.25% below its 52-week high of 1.30 and 179.00% above its 52-week low of 0.12.

PLUG is a leading alternative energy supplier of fuel cell systems used in off-road markets around the world. The company announced recently the securing of a $6.5 million investment from Air Liquide. The strategic investment will bolster PLUG’s development and roll out of its hydrogen fuel cells for forklift trucks and other horizontal markets.

PLUG is currently up 55.36% on its 20-day simple moving average and 68.24% above its 50-day simple moving average. The stock has a 14-day RSI of 69.53 indicating that it is very near being overbought and analysts have set a target price of 0.60 for PLUG.

TNP has a range of 4.67 and 5.21 and the stock is currently trading 18.66% below its 52-week high of 6.10 and 65.59% above its 52-week low of 3.00. TNP’s technical chart shows a northward climb which has prevailed in the last five days. The stock is currently trading 5.24% below its first resistance point of 5.22 and the trend suggests TENP might break through this level imminently.

TNP made a good showing in its recent earnings call, beating out Wall Street expectations by posting a profit on stronger than expected revenues. Adjusted EPS climbed 0.02 in the first quarter, improving on the -0.19 posted in the corresponding quarter for 2012.
