Priceline.com Inc (NASDAQ:PCLN) reigns in King County with Booking.com

Booking.com is segment of Priceline (NASDAQ: PCLN) and is the world leader in online-accommodation bookings. Very recently, The Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County, welcomed Booking.com’s latest customer-service center to King County. The company has signed a lease-agreement in Bellevue’s Sunset Corporate Campus. This is Booking.com’s third center in the United States. The company’s Managing Director, Todd Dunlap said that they feel that this region is a reflection of the diverse and tech savvy workforce and blends-in perfectly with the company’s workings.

Extensive assistance from EDC

The EDC provided the company with all the customized research that they needed on King County. It covered subjects like language, economic statistics and demographic data. In addition to this, the EDC also provided Booking.com’s site-location team with numerous community briefings. Dunlap said that the EDC has helped in gathering all the relevant facts and figures and also in connecting the company with business leaders as well as the international community.

Strategic planning

Priceline (NASDAQ: PCLN) is a Netherlands-based company. It has over 100 offices across 50 countries. The company opened up an office in Seattle in 2012. By the end of this year, the Seattle office will have a workforce of 50 employees and will also move to downtown Bellevue towards the end of the year. The new customer-service center includes plans for almost 350 new jobs in the region.

There is a concentration of the international community in King County and that was one of the primary reasons for setting up operations here. The markets across the Pacific Rim and Asia are growing at an astonishing pace and the bilingual team at the center will be able to serve these markets effectively.

PCLN offers its customers hotel room bookings at more than 295,000 hotels across the globe, via the Booking.com, Agoda and priceline.com brands. In the U.S, it also offers customers reservations for airline tickets, cruises, destination services via priceline.com.
