New York, NY – GDP INSIDER  – 01/02/2014.

Liquid Holdings Group Inc (NASDAQ:LIQD) is cutting ties with QuantX Management, one of its long-term and obviously key business partner. There are a number of issues pushing Liquid Holdings to suspend its dealings with QuantX, one of them is unpaid services and notes. As such, Liquid Holdings informed QuantX that it intended to deny it access to its services and technology starting January 8, 2015.

According to Liquid Holdings Group Inc (NASDAQ:LIQD), cutting ties with QuantX is not expected to have any material adverse impact on its daily operations or clients. However, the company conceded that it was generating significant software services revenue from its dealings with QuantX.

In addition to suspending services to QuantX, Liquid Holdings Group Inc (NASDAQ:LIQD) also revealed its intention to terminate consulting agreement between it and Brian Ferdinand, a co-founder of Ferdinand Trading LLC.

Organovo Holdings Inc (NYSEMKT:ONVO)’s CEO, Keith Murphy, recently hinted that selling the company was part of the consideration to enhance shareholder value in the emerging biotech. The announcement was received positively as speculators moved to take positions in the stock to benefit from a possible merger or acquisition deal.

The comment that Organovo Holdings Inc (NYSEMKT:ONVO) could be offered for sale comes just about a month after the company launched a key regenerative tissue platform known as exVive 3D. It was expected that Organovo Holdings would offer exVive 3D for sale to interested buyers, mostly biotech and pharmaceutical companies. However, it chose to keep it in-house but allow other companies to use.

Keeping exVive 3D in-house could also increase buyout prospects for Organovo Holdings Inc (NYSEMKT:ONVO).

Armco Metals Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMCO) intends to expand the scope of its business to include woodchips. The move is expected to help the company to tap more revenue and deliver greater value to the shareholders as it fulfills a market demand in China.

In a recent move to take the company closer to its woodchips business dream, Armco Metals Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMCO) announced a deal with Chilean supplier. The two firms agreed to an initial purchase of 50,000 Green Metric Tons (GMT) of Eucalyptus woodchip as part of a trial phase. If a success is achieved in the trial, the companies intend to escalate to between 500,000 and 600,000 GMT of woodchips.

There is a big demand for woodchips in China than the domestic suppliers can meet. That has motivated Armco Metals Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMCO) to enter the woodchips supply business.
