It has three different operating segments: Molycorp Mountain Pass, Molycorp Sillamae and Molycorp Tolleson. On 1 April 2011, Molycorp Inc (NYSE:MCP) acquired 90percent interest in AS Silmet. The latter is situated in Sillamae, Estonia. On 15 April 2011, MCP acquired Santoku America, Inc. On 24 October 2011 and acquired the remainder 9.9% interest in Molycorp Sillamae. On 22 August 2011, Molycorp opened its Tokyo office. This was to provide customer support, consulting as well as technical services to customers in Japan.
