Miami, FL 05/07/2013 (GDPInsider) – Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE:TSN): In Monday’s trading session, there was a drop of 3.33% in Tyson Foods, Inc (NYSE:TSN). The opening price of the shares was $23.93 which touched an intraday price of $24.23 before settling down to $23.39 per share. Over 12.72M shares were traded in Monday’s trading session which was a dramatic increase from the average volume of 3.49M that was measured over a period of 30 days.

On Monday, the Springdale-based Tyson Foods reported that its net income for the second-quarter was $94 million which was a dip of 43% from the $166 million that had been reported by it in the same quarter in 2012. The company that processes meat said that its Earnings per Share or EPS attributable to the company, dipped from the 44 cents that it stood at last year, to 26 cents. On an adjusted basis EPS reached 36 cents while the analyst projection had been 45 cents per share. Tyson Foods, Inc (NYSE:TSN)’s shares fell in the pre-market trading soon after the report was issued by the company.
