The name of the initiative is Tyson Foods Fellows program. This program will incorporate the technical knowledge and expertise that Tyson Foods, Inc (NYSE:TSN) has in the chicken production filed, with the Secure the Future Tanzania initiative that World Vision had launched. They will help these farmers build more sustainable livelihoods.
Both these companies announced their plans of educating thousands
of local farmers in Tanzania’s Babati region, about the best agricultural practices that they can follow. As per research that has been conducted by the World Food Program, over 40% of the population in Tanzania has to live with food deficits and most of these are children.
Knowledge sharing effort

there is a dire need for agricultural developments. The company believes that this initiative of sharing knowledge via which they will be able to build a sustainable agricultural system will go a long way in pulling them out of this vicious hunger-cycle and their children will be well-provided for.
The program teachings
Select Tyson Foods, Inc (NYSE:TSN) employees will be sent to Tanzania. These employees will teach the local farmers how they can breed chicken in a sustainable manner and improve their income and also provide for food. They will be taught things like the basics of keeping the water clean, how to select the best breeds of chicken, the best choices of feed, disease and housing management, the actual processing, marketing and transportation of the chicken. This project will go a long way in alleviating all the malnourishment and income problems that the people of this region are facing.
