What Entertainment Offerings Do Time Warner Inc(NYSE:TMX), Starz(NASDAQ:STRZA), and Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.(NYSE:LYV) Have In Store?
New York, NY – GDP INSIDER – 10/17/2014.
This article discusses three entertainment companies: Time Warner Inc(NYSE:TMX), Starz(NASDAQ:STRZA), and Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.(NYSE:LYV)
Time Warner Inc(NYSE:TWX) has decided to offer the Home Box Office, or HBO, as its own streaming web service that users can subscribe to without needed either cable or satellite television. The new video-on-demand platform has the potential to be a huge winner given the overwhelming popularity of many of HBO’s offerings. Not only is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver a huge hit, but Game of Thrones is the most heavily pirated television show in history.
Starz(NASDAQ:STRZA) is a direct competitor of HBO that was recently downgraded by National Alliance Securities from Buy to Hold. The company is also currently exploring a TV-free subscription service similar to the new HBO service, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. Starz’s original programming, however, is simply not as popular as HBO’s offerings. Spartacus, released in 2010, was the first Starz original program that has lasted more than two seasons on the network.
Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.(NYSE:LYV) is, as the name suggests, a live entertainment company that is focused on promoting live music events in its own venues and in rented third-party venues. Additionally, the company also produces musical festivals for fans to enjoy. Despite the company’s offerings, Live Nation Entertainment is currently facing a disparate bid and offer price predicament. The company has a bid price of $20.02 x 700 and an offer price of $24.75 x 2,000.
