Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) is an online market place and City Harvest is the first food-rescue organization in the world. They are now in a joint venture and are presenting a campaign called One Groupon, One Meal. This campaign was launched on 23 September and will run right through to 29 September.

The meal deal

This is how the campaign works- Whenever a Groupon is purchased from the drink and food offerings in Long Island, New York City or Westchester County, City Harvest will receive a donation from Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN), that is equivalent to the cost of one meal. Alongside this campaign, the company is also offering a deal for the VIP attendance to an event that is to be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The event organized by City Harvest is called Bid Against Hunger and is to be held on 22 October.

Monday’s trading

In Monday’s trading session, Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) stock dipped by 5.58%. The opening price of the shares was $12.19 which rose to an intraday high of $12.21 and dropped to a close of $11.94. Approximately 32.72 million shares were traded on Monday. An average volume of 18.89 million shares were traded over a period of 30 days. The 52-week high of the shares is $2.60 and the 52-week low is $12.76. The company has a market capitalization of $7.97 billion.
