Internet protocol-based network products and services provider Cisco Systems, Inc.(NASDAQ:CSCO) announced Sept 29th that it had completed the acquisition of Metacloud, notably employs an OpenStack-as-a-Service model for its deployment and operation of private clouds for global organizations. The California-based company stated that this acquisition will help to expedite its strategy to construct and implement the largest Intercloud in the world.
Cisco also announced that thirty companies had added their support to the growing Intercloud, which will contribute to the growth of standardized cloud applications and secure hybrid clouds. The company’s providing support include Deutsche Telekom, Equinix, NTT, Data, and BT and the additions expand the reach of the company’s Intercloud to 50 countries.
