Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) has announced that Shantanu Narayen has been elected to its Board of Directors. The effective start date of his appointment is 27 September 2013. Narayen has also been appointed to the company’s Corporate Governance & Science and Technology Committees
The 50-year old Narayen is the president and CEO of Adobe Systems Inc and serves on the company’s board of directors. Before he became the CEO in 2007, he was at various different posts in the company. He is also a member of the United States President’s Management Advisory Board. This board was set up in 2010 with the objective of providing advice on how best business practices can be implemented.
This included factors like application of technology on matters related to the operation and management of the Federal Government. He is also the Dell director and serves on the Haas School of Business’ Advisory board which is a part of Berkley’s University of California. He is also the President of the Adobe Foundation board. This board funds various global philanthropic initiatives.
