Will Schlumberger Limited.(NYSE:SLB), Synergy Resources Corp(NYSEMKT:SYRG), and C&J Energy Services Inc(NYSE:CJES) Advance In The Oil And Gas Exploration Business?
New York, NY – GDP INSIDER – 10/17/2014.
This article discusses three oil and gas exploration companies: Schlumberger Limited.(NYSE:SLB), Synergy Resources Corp(NYSEMKT:SYRG), and C&J Energy Services Inc(NYSE:CJES)
Schlumberger Limited.(NYSE:SLB) announced its third quarter 2014 financial results after the markets closed yesterday. The figures included a revenue figure of $12.6 billion, up $0.5 billion from the second quarter and $1 billion from the same period during the previous fiscal year. Schlumberger’s CEO related its results to its strong North American activity and growth in international markets. The company also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.40 per share yesterday.
Synergy Resources Corp(NYSEMKT:SYRG) is facing a large bid and offer price disparity, with figures of $9.00 x 100 and $13.45 x 7,000. However, the Colorado-based oil and gas exploration and production company announced that its proved reserve evaluation rose 133% from its 13.8mm/BOE figure on 8/31/2013 to 32.2mm/BOE on 8/31/2014. The value of those reserves rose from $236 million to $534 million. The company will be reporting its quarterly earnings on Oct. 28th, 2014.
C&J Energy Services Inc(NYSE:CJES) saw its value fall to a new 52 week low of $18.29 during yesterday’s trading. Not only that, but it is also facing a $14.35 difference in its bid and offer prices and a spiking trading volume. Regardless of the company’s trading figures, however, the real concern for C&J Energy Services stems from the investigation of the company’s board of directors regarding its proposed merger with Nabors Industries Ltd. and Nabors Red Lion Limited.
