Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) has certified Sequans Communications for the VZ20M and VZ21M, 2 additional single mode LTE-modules. Both these modules have been designed to add the plug-and-play functionality on mobile computers and tablets. These modules are the latest additions from the Sequans EZLinkLTE portfolio.

The target market

The company says that this is very useful for device manufacturers as every one of the EZLinkLTE module is tested, integrated as well as certified to allow immediate LTE capability addition. Most of the devices have not been previously embedded with LTE functionality. Last month, Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) integrated the VZ20Q module that is manufactured by Sequan. This module has been designed to be used in M2M devices and consumer electronics.

Sequans is targeting the requirements of single-mode LTE. This permits it overstep all the messy issues that plague legacy-technology support. The vendor primarily focuses its efforts on markets like the U.S, South Korea and Japan where LTE coverage-plans are expansive and ambitious.
